Red Hat Directory Server Errata Support Policy

Overview

Red Hat has established fixed life cycles for Red Hat Directory Server that will allow customers and partners to plan their resources and implementations accordingly.

To facilitate customer maintenance cycles, Red Hat Directory Server will be supported via errata Service Packs. These Service Packs will contain security, bug fix, and limited enhancement errata that have been qualified on the appropriate Red Hat Directory Server release and architecture. Security errata will be the only errata released independent of the Service Packs.

Details

For a period of 5 years from initial release (General Availability), Red Hat will provide errata maintenance for Red Hat Directory Server. To facilitate the rapid adoption of new enterprise hardware and software yet retain the high standard of stability inherit in Red Hat's enterprise products, the 5 years is divided into two phases of maintenance.

Phase 1: Full Support

Start Date: General Availability
End Date: 3 Years from General Availability date
Description: During the Full Support phase, support will be provided according to the published Scope of Coverage for Red Hat Directory Server: https://www.redhat.com/support/service/sla/directory.html. Additional hardware support will be provided at the discretion of Red Hat via Service Packs. Additionally, all available and qualified errata will be applied to the products via Service Packs (or as required for Security level errata.)

Phase 2: Maintenance

Start Date: 3 Years from General Availability (end of Full Support)
End Date: 2 Years from end of Full Support (5 years from General Availability)
Description: During the Maintenance phase, only Security errata and select mission critical bug fixes will be released for Red Hat Directory Server.

Full Support (including hardware updates): June 7, 2005 -- June 6, 2008
Maintenance Support: June 7, 2008 -- June 6, 2010
