Course Description
This course teaches users directory server fundamentals and basic Red Hat Directory Server administration.
Prerequisites:
- RH145 requires basic computer knowledge; it does not require indepth knowledge of command line Linux.
- RH033 Red Hat Linux Essentials is useful, but not required.
- Knowledge of directory service application and LDAP are useful, but not required.
Experienced Linux system administrators who wish to use the Red Hat Directory Server as a basis for an authentication subsystem integrated with Kerberos authentication will want to attend RH423 Red Hat Enterprise Directory Services and Authentication instead of attending this course. The RH423 class is an advanced class, however, and RHCE-level knowledge is expected in that class.
Goal:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to understand Light Weight Directory Access Protocal (LDAP) directories; install the Red Hat Directory Server; modify and search the directory server; maintain the directory server by configuring authentication, referrals, and replication.
Audience:
Although the class will be taught on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, participants will be spend most of the lab time interacting with the directory server and not with the operating system. Therefore, although knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux is useful, it is not essential.
The first unit of the course will teach those who are not experienced in the use of Linux the essentials they need to know to use and administer the Red Hat Directory Server.
Includes:
- 4 days intensive training on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Class times:
-
