Effective January 1, 2008, Red Hat will no longer be selling the following JBoss certification exams:
Modest interest in the existing certification program relative to considerable interest in JBoss training suggests that the certification program is not the right fit for JBoss customers and the developer community.
Definitely! Red Hat is actively building greater delivery capacity worldwide and extending the JBoss catalog. Red Hat is committed to making JBoss technologies the enterprise application development of choice. High-quality, readily-available training will play a vital role.
Exams will remain available to partner companies for the purpose of servicing existing contracts. Continued engagement with partners is essential for us to understand the training and assessment needs in the JBoss market.
All JBoss certifications are subject to the expiry policy under which they were earned. A certification that would have been valid on January 1, 2008 prior to the discontinuation will still be valid on that date. Nothing is being taken away from people who have already participated in the program.
Eligibility codes to take exams issued prior to January 1, 2008 will expire on their original expiration date.
Yes, but only when we can offer a program that provides the same value to certification holders and their employers we have provided with Red Hat Certified Engineer and our other performance-based certifications. Bringing a meaningful developer credential to market is an enormous challenge, but one we look forward to exploring in partnership with the JBoss community.
