Raleigh NC – April 1, 2008 – Red Hat (NYSE: RHT), the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, today announced the launch of the second annual Red Hat Innovation Awards, designed to honor the creative use of Red Hat solutions by customers, partners and the community. The Innovation Awards will recognize six category winners and one Innovator of the Year at the Red Hat Summit in Boston, Mass. taking place June 18-20, 2008.
Innovation Award winners will be selected for their original approaches to improving processes, overcoming technology challenges and enhancing their bottom line with Red Hat solutions. The six Innovation Award categories include:
Submissions for the Innovation Awards will be accepted until May 9, 2008. Each submission will be evaluated by a panel of judges, including: Lee Congdon, CIO at Red Hat; Sean Michael Kerner, journalist for Internetnews.com; James Staten, Principal Analyst at Forrester Research Group; Matthew Aslett, Analyst, Enterprise Software at The 451 Group; and Michael Simpson, CTO of McKesson Provider Technologies, a 2007 Red Hat Innovation Award winner. The six category winners will be announced in early June. Of these winners, one will be selected as the Red Hat Innovator of the Year through online voting by the community. The announcement of the Innovator of the Year, in addition to recognition for each Innovation Award winner, will take place during an awards ceremony at the Red Hat Summit.
